Ms. Erner

Emma Erner is an assistant director of 4th Avenue Jazz Company and a choreographer for Charisma. Emma has been serving as an assistant show choir director at City High since the 2017-2018 season and enjoys every part of show choir including show design, costuming, music arrangement, rehearsals, and attending performances and competitions.

Emma is a 2017 graduate of Xavier High School and outside of her service to City High’s music department, she is a Clinical Pharmacist. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy and completed residency training at Duke University Medical Center. Emma grew up training in ballet, jazz, contemporary, and tap, dancing competitively at The Dancer’s Edge in Hiawatha, Iowa. She spent seven years in show choir herself, including multiple years as a dance captain. Following high school graduation, Emma began working as an assistant to choreographer Lexi Robson Buglewicz and is blessed to have Lexi as both a mentor and friend.

Outside of show choir and her pharmacy career, Emma enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She is an avid Hawkeye football fan and loves any opportunity to attend a sporting event. Emma could not be more grateful for the City High show choir community, and every one of her students, and looks forward to continuing to work with Mr. Hagy, Mr. Walker, and the other assistants to continue to push the program to new heights.
